Here’s why. I bought one at Lowes about 6 months ago and found a little part known as a Valve plate assembley part #A64050. It is located just under the fluted head. It’s just a simple valve with three small pieces of metal over 3 holes that lets air pass but keeps it from passing back through. Like any valve.
