New Outfeed/Assembly Table

04-22-2018 03:58 PM by Rodzilla12man | 1 comment »

This is the frame for my new Outfeed/Assembly Table for my Grizzly G0691. I’ll be finishing the top today and will post those pics when completed. It is constructed with glue/pocket screws And 16ga Finish nails shot with my finish gun to attach the bottom shelf to the frame, and it’s all done out of 3/4” hybrid MDF/plywood. It’s only a 7 ply with 5 of the 7 being real wood (not sure what species) and the other two being a layer of MDF on either side casing the wood. It seems to be quite stabl...

My Mobile Assembly/Outfeed Table and First Video

01-15-2018 04:11 AM by YesHaveSome | 2 comments »

I had always wanted to get into woodworking and video. For woodworking, space/time/money was always the big roadblocks for me. For video, I didnt really know have anything I wanted to shoot. When I got into woodworking in the beginning of 2017 I figured the two paired nicely. I’ve been in the website/digital industry for the past 10 years and also have a background as a CAD jockey. Woodworking, plans, video and website all seem to go together quite nicely so I figured I’d start a ...

Tablesaw Workstation #1: Fence Purchase

03-27-2017 02:49 AM by Gingzillaman | 0 comments »

Today I purchased the Vega Pro 50 fence system. I had some Amazon Points saved up and decided this was the first major upgrade I wanted to do in regards to the workshop. I did a lot of research and reading on different fence options. This fit the budget and did not require much tweaking for install. I was looking at the VSC fence and making the rails but I just didn’t want to fuss with all that. I am more focused on building a safe and functional table saw workstation with ample capacit...

Mobile Assembly Table

05-23-2015 06:53 AM by HappyHowie | 2 comments »

I decided to replace the tear -down workstation in my garage shop. It was not mobile and it became more stationary than a tear-down temporary assembly table. I feel that in my garage shop everything should mobile if it is on the floor. The exceptions are some storage racks and the sheets storage area. The five gallon buckets that captures my wood scraps should one day be replaced with a scrap mobile rack. Until then they camp under my hardwood wall rack. I did some searches for an a...

Five years later, Workshop Remodel. Going from pretty to functional #9: The Assembly/Outfeed Table

04-23-2014 01:53 AM by Craftsman on the lake | 7 comments »

I’ve been using the assembly table in the shop for a little while now. I made the murphy bed and a couple other items and it came in handy. I like it.Please realize that my idea of an outfeed table as a combo assembly/outfeed table is a preference of mine and not necessarily of others. I downgraded from a woodworking bench with vices and such to this after I found that I needed outfeed and assembly capabilities more than a workbench. I use a combination of hand and power tools. I use po...

My new assembly table and I are off to a rough start

01-18-2014 09:57 AM by WatchYerFingers13 | 1 comment »

After a long uphill battle with my girlfriend, she has finally decided that I need a small bench/ assembly table at our house. My main bench and all of my tools currently reside on my fathers back porch, But due to my work schedule and time constraints it has become necessary for me to be able to do some work from home. So why a rough start you ask?...Two sheets of 3/4 MDF and one sheet of 1/4 tempered hard board later. Ouch! They slid right out of the back of my SUV directly onto my shi...

New Mobile Work Station #1: First Things First - The Plan

11-19-2013 08:00 PM by MT_Stringer | 4 comments »

Today I am going to start building a mobile workstation/cart or whatever you want to call it. No doubt mine will be similar to carts others have built, but customized to fit my needs. So, here are my ideas. The Plan Table use: I plan to use the table for things like: a sanding area surface for mounting the PC dovetail jig mount for the pocket hole jig area for clamping glue ups. other uses where work piece needs to be held in position via clamps. Construction Detail...

Opinions please #1: Solid core door topping the bench

10-05-2012 11:46 AM by curliejones | 7 comments »

Greetings, fellow LJs. I have a puzzle that needs a solution. I built a workbench that I particularly want to roll into place for TS outfeed. I hope to soon delineate the steps taken and justify decisions to help the next guy not do so much planning. The “opportunity” before me goes like this: I have a very nice solid core door for the workbench top and a piece of hardboard for the sacrificial top. After reading the “two-sided tape” tip several times, I bought a roll. ...
