So in my first blog entry I touched on my dust collection progress. I’ve recieved a bit of interest with it so I thought I might share some of what I’ve learned to help others get a head start on thier system or to improve the system they already have. IWF #1: IWF bound and need some advice

I am on my way to IWF, You know the Disneyland for woodworkers, and I need some help. I have two objectives this year. One to have a better finish and two replace my radial arm saw. I think I know what I going to do with the spray gun. I am replacing my airless with an air-assisted airless. Any comments on that would be helpful, but I am really concerned on my cross cuts. Well, I have to admit this is a new one for me. I’m in the final steps of completing my version of the new fangled workbench and was moving the top, back and forth over the leg assembly. It’s 2’ x 4’ x 2” thick with a 50 pound Craftsman woodworking vise on one end. Weighs about 125 lbs. I have been resisting buying a Radial Arm Saw (RAS) for at least the last year. I have a great Sliding Compound Miter Saw, Router, and Table Saw. The only operation that seemed to be quick with a RAS that I could not easily do with the tools I have is making cross cuts using a dado set.
