Today I visited a few antique stores in a couple of small towns near Sacramento. I thought I would share what I found. In addition to a few tools I found some woodworking books including a copy of Graham Blackburn’s “Illustrated Encyclopedia of Woodworking Handtools Instruments and Devices”.

This week I came up with this axle and wheels from an old antique wagon. I have another set of wheels I found previously, but they don’t match this new set.
I am just scratching my head about what to do with them. I know they are good for something, and something really cool, I just don’t know what yet.
Last Spring, I was trying to figure out how to do a backdrop set for a Cowboy VBS program, and the jocks sure came to my aide.

I recieved the second Plough plane from the UK in the mail today. This one is the little sister of the Record 044 I showed in my last blog entry. This one is a small plough plane made by record and imitated by a couple of other manufactures including Marples. This plane is useful for quickly making groves in boards for drawers and similar applications.

Yesterday was the monthly antique sale here in Sacramento and my daughter and I went shopping. It is a good family outting. I’ve gotten in the habit of sharing what I find on these outings, so here are photos of this months finds. I try to purchase things that I can use and avoid collecting for collecting’s sake.
