Well, over the weekend, I was only able to do limited work on my boxes. You see, I discovered the reason for my “clamping issues” on my lever-action boxes… My miter saw is out of adjustment! My 45’ angles were NOT 45’! So I took a 2×4, jointed it then planed it, then spent the next hour chopping the h311 out of it, adjusting the blade after every chop, until it was giving me perfectly accurate 45’ angles.
