It’s good to be watched while you work, maybe…
The snake is about 4 feet long and turns up on warm days.I had to, alas, do for the wasps nest – it was OK while they just buzzed around watching, but then they started passing comments on my work by stinging me – I didn’t think it was going that badly but they obviously did. I hate to kill things but it got to the point where I couldn’t work – as it was the stings on my hands grounded me for about...

What’s a WoodWorking Economy To Do or Be?
So by now I’m sure we all have heard and have our ideas//opinions on ’the new economy’ as if this word new means that one can now forget about the ’old economy’. And then I wonder can any explain as to what happens when we have two economies as past and present? My understanding of all this has all-ways been to keep it very simple….K.I.S.S; and then one is able to better work within the word definition ...

Dealing with Internet Business:I haven’t had much time to blog this year. Blogging is fine, I like it, but honestly, who has time to read my dribble? I get enough encouragement to continue blogging that I make time for it when I can, but it has been awhile.
Ever since Google started to find my lumberjocks postings in the Spring of this year, I’ve been pretty busy.
Google had always fround my postings, and my website but the ratings were apparently so low on their list that...

Like I mentioned before, I am building a matching coffee table along with my “hall table.” I have been making an effort to document the time I spend on larger projects for my own reference. But since I am building two projects together the concept of time is getting a little blurry. I spent a few hours the other day just getting the coffee table caught up in the process. All the joinery is the same as before.
I decided to try taping my joints to make it easier to peel off the g...

I’ve been working on this wall slat system for a couple days. I only had a couple hours to mess with it today. One of the things that I made was a cam action hanging saw holder. I got tired of storing my saws flat against the wall on a nail. It’s inconvenient if you store more than one per nail, then you end up with saws on the bench that you aren’t using (getting dull every time something bumps into them).
I made this hanger to solve that problem in my shop. I know,...

Well in my little world things change on a regular basis. As I said before I don’t make drawings, and if I do it’s because the project is well on it’s way and I’m caught between liking it and not. So I draw it to see it. Normally I make changes from that point. Well there’s been a change in this project. I seemed to have found myself at Austin Hardwoods today looking to purchase some more Bubinga. Well as fate would have it there was a pile of Padauk next t...

I went to the local WoodCraft today to look around and watch a demo of the saw stop. I found out that they were having a workshop where you could turn pens that they were sending to deserving soldiers overseas. I decided to give it a try and with the help of a patient and talented instructor I was able to turn out this pen. They offered to allow me to keep it since it was my first but I decided to let it go to the soldiers and I would settle for this cell phone pic and the meory of turning...

I just got an e-mail from Dusty. We talked a couple of weeks ago. He just got back from going hunting and he took his father with him.
He has retired from the City bus line and he has been working with the US Gov. He has also been taking some classes on Stained Glass making, working on making Tiffany Style Lamps. Each one takes about 600 hours work.
He has bought another house, behing him and one door away, he’s planning on making it a guest house for “This Old Crack House...
