Shop Safety #3: Caution, Very Graphic Video

140 days ago by Lee A. Jesberger | 59 comments »

Hi Everyone; First please note, I’m not trying to beat a dead horse here, however I am trying my very best to get every lumberjock to use a splitter, and much better one with anti kick back pawls. Even though we all use the table saw all the time, and it never happened before, and we’re extremely sure of ourselves, just keep in mind it only takes once. It’s a chance not worth taking. While looking around the internet I came across a video taken in a hospital Emerge...

375 days ago by jeffthewoodwacker | 4 comments »

All the winter projects are complete and I have finally managed to clean the shop up just in time for the New Year to start. Now have a request to build a shuffleboard table and have no clue where to start. Any suggestions as to where to get plans? I have been to a few bars to look at shuffleboard tables and have come away with some great ideas. Any help would be appreciated.

Hand Cut Double Dovetail Experiment

188 days ago by Woodhacker | 43 comments »

After admiring the double and double-double dovetail joints that are capable with the Incra and other jigs, I started thinking, “Why not try this by hand?” So this box is my first experiment with handcut double dovetails. It took me some time to figure out the joinery process, but once I realized a few things about this type of joint, it seemed do-able. It was quite challenging but also a ton of fun. It also does take some degree of patience and precision…which I’m still working on. In...

Delta T2 Fence #1: Bought a new rip fence

386 days ago by Jamie | 5 comments »

Well, I gave in and bought the Delta T2 fence for my restored 1952 Craftsman 10” tilt arbor table saw. I still have the original fence, but the rail was aluminum and not built very well. I am sure that it worked fine in the day, but this one was a sight for sore eyes. I tried to restore the original fence also, but noticed there was a crack in the rail near one of the mounting bolt holes. Hopefully it will fit the mounting holes of the table saw. From what I can tell, the Delta T...
