FYI: we’ve decided to delay this months eMag until after the Awards results are announced.
Does anyone have anything they’d like included in this issue? Plans for upcoming picnics? Woodworking groups?

Making the last part – had to glue up some resaw pieces to get the thickness. Thought I better document it or someone might think I added a piece of plywood to my 2×4 project
When I started to look for the image of a 12 sided figure on the Internet last night, my Honors HS Geometry daughter informed me that this is called a “dodecagon.” Printed it out on the computer the right size and glued it to the top of my piece.

Hi LJ’s.
In case you don’t already have it, Issue #2 (Fall 2004) of Woodworking Magazine is available free as a pdf download. Click on the “Download a free issue” link at the Woodworking Magazine homepage .
I have no relation to WW Mag beyond being a big fan, well and a bit of a Christopher Schwarz stalker (in a good way, of course!). ;-)

The top pieces have been chosen and in the clamps for glue-up as we speak. The domino tenons helped keep everything aligned and flat for the clamping. I cleaned up the squeeze out and will let it set while i work on the face frame and doors.

As I mentioned in my last blog post, I was recently inspired to build a period reproduction piece of furniture. I chose to do a side table in the Queen Anne style based on a Glen Huey design with cabriole legs, scrolled aprons and a single drawer. I like this style and it poses some challenges in developing new skills. The picture is Glen Huey’s version.
I’ve started down the path of building this piece and I hope that you’ll follow along as I post entries about its de...

I am planning on setting up a very small hand tool workshop for my father-in-law for a retirement gift. It will be in a small storage shed in his back yard. I plan to add some insulation and Sheetrock making it comfortable.
The one thing I would like to get for him is a European style bench. Please help me choose one. Any opinions are helpful.
I am looking for a simple, compact, hand tool bench. It needs to be a great value and I know it can’t be the highest quality. But I just wa...

This is a plan that I found early on in the year and is really what has finally pushed me into doing something with the dusty old tools that I have setting around. I found it by chance on a website and promptly printed a copy of the plans. I’m not too up on copyrights and such, but if you google it as 19830EZ you should be able to find it as a PDF file.
Quick back-step: My wife and I are of the belief that there are far too many gifts that are given out impersonally that fall apar...

With blurry eyes, I made my way to the bathroom this morning but was distracted by a loud rattling sound. Taking a detour from my intended destination, I followed the sound and arrived at my daughter’s bedroom door.
“Are you stuck?” “Yes” was the reply and the frantic rattling became faster and louder. I jiggled the door knob from my side. I twisted; I pulled; I pushed. The door did not open.
“Just a minute.” .... “Rick, we need your help....
