First of all you have to determine what shape you will need that you can make accurately and repeatedly. This is where my jigs come in. I was to poor to buy several miter gauges so I made mine out of angle iron and bar stock. I made them set close to a certain angle, adjustable just a little. I mill wide boards. I have been slipping some of them in the side door of a local cabinet shop when I need them surfaced, but that is getting to be a hassle. I decided to make a wide drum sander. Not really a thickness sander since I mill my own lumber, just a sander to take the sawmill marks out. I had just about everything. In response to Woodworkinaspirations’ forum entry about making miter corners – I thought I’d take a stab at explaining how I make my corners. http://lumberjocks.com/topics/4967
The caveat on this is that my saw blade really, really needs cleaned and sharpened and my sled needs a new fence—- all this to admit that I have some tear out on the corners. But with that said, this should help aspirations to see ONE method to do box corners.

I have had so many positive comments and feedback on the Celtic Knot Rolling Pin. Thank you for all of them. Many LumberJocks asked for instructions on how they are made- so here goes. It all starts with a sheet of plywood
From there I added the toe kick area
The base is put together almost exclusively with pocket screws and glue
Then the four sides are added to form a box and the fan was installed. I was lucky to find this squirrel cage fan on Craigs List for $20

MAME (Multiple Arcade Machine Emulator) allows you to play old arcade games on your PC. While playing them with a keyboard and mouse is OK, to really get the experience you need an arcade cabinet. I could spend some time on just the PC setup, but I’m going to just concentrate on the cabinet construction here. I built this back in 2003 over the course of a week.

This is a quick little tutorial in response to Blake’s question on how to draw floor plans in 3D in Sketchup
This is the quick and dirty methodFirst make an outline of the inside dimensions of the room
Then select all the lines by clicking on them with the shift key held down
Then use the offset tool and click on one of the selected lines, and offset it 4 or 6” whatever you want..
Then you should have a separate area where the walls are

Carving the curved letter section begins with the stop cut. I use a out cannel gouge that is close to the radius that has been layed out. If you don’t have an gouge close, you can work you centers down with a parting tool, or you can use the corner of your bench chisel to work carefully around the curve. when using your bench chisel, be aware of how deep your actualy cutting, just like before you can always clean up alittle deeper.I will try and work the curves in 1/4 sections (90 degre...
