The challenge was to get these applied carvings off intact so I can apply them to the new rail:
1. I sliced the carvings and some of the wood from the old rail off with the bandsaw2. I put a big pot of water on the stove to boil with a fry pan splatter screen on top.3. I was able to use the same block of wood that I used to form the front rail. First let me apologize for the delay in getting this week’s blog out. I’ve had a pretty busy few days. This week was the Chargers last pre-season game, so I was busy with that last night. I’m on a new mission, a mission style arm chair. I had a desk chair that has fallen apart and its time for a new one. Again sticking with the Hockey Stick theme, I’ll attempt to put one together.
This is the type of chair for the starting point. I’ll get some measurements and make it completely from sticks if I can. I envision using goalie sticks for the arms, we’ll see if it works.

In the last installment, I showed some of the detail work involved in making the trays for my Jewelry Box.
Here I continue with the dividers that will create the lower level compartments. There are twelve components to the lower dividers. They are tedious to make requiring patience and care to keep everything square. My intention is to eventually glue this grid-work up and insert as one piece.
