OK everything I try does not work!
I don’t even own a camera so I had to bug my good neighbor that even edited the footage and added a title etc. After two attempts to get it to work I have failed! Kind of like learning to do new things with tools – the first few attempts are just that attempts. I am so naive that I read it as ending on the 22nd (today) so I thought I had till midnight today to get it to work. I see that that was an incorrect assumption on my part so I loose ...

In my blog I started to talk about my next set of Thorsen Greene and Greene Tables. I called them my Twins.. The blog talked about my use of Holly wood and Popular wood to make the set of twins. Both woods in their normal state are quite light. Holly as being classified as the whitest of woods and Popular as an Ivory color for sapwood and usually a light green tint in the heart wood.
Here are pictures of normal Holly and Popular The Holly is in the left and the Popular on the right of t...

I had a local cabinet company that wanted me to make them 58”L. columns to match the ones that they bought from their suppler who couldn’t make the longer ones. Well, this worked to in my favor because I still needed to finish off our kitchen island ends and this was a good solution. This project took jigs to accomplish.
I just love the challenge of making a jig that really works.
This shows the columns with one end finished. I had to carve the curved part of the...

”....and so i went walking for a trial at finding my pace”, there i go again even now as i push these covers back, looking outside my window i feel the vibrations rolling off your face, till in the essence of the moment i am gripped by the reality of drooling yack….

I have really enjoyed looking at all the completed projects. They are truly awesome.
I installed the pegs last week. I used a shim to help prevent installing the pegs too deep. It worked well. I put tape around the peg mortises to help in the clean up of any glue squeeze out.
For the finish I used a combination tung oil and urethane mix. Three coats so far and with some 400-600 grit smoothing in between another 2-3 coats should do it. You can see some of the details of the peg...

Most of the old door has been milled down in size or thickness in preparations for this table. This has made quick work of paint removal – no tedious sanding, scraping or stripping.
One of the door panels will be the lower shelf, but doesn’t require any milling to bring this down to the proper thickness. So, in keeping with the green theme of the Greene and Greene inspired table I pulled out some “Ready Strip” and slathered on an (incidentally green) layer of “...
