Hello
I want to upgrade form a Rockwell job site saw to a hybrid table saw. I am going to ask the same question that has been asked multiple times before. BUT my situation is that I live in an extreme rural part of the country. I can’t go to the local Rockler or Woodcraft to touch a saw. I am stuck using mail order. Skill level is 1 or 2 steps above “I can build you a nice table out of 2×4’s”. I want to keep the cost to ~$1500 but preferably closer to $1000. I have looked at a lot of the reviews and forums. Grizzly has saws for $1000 or less as do other companies. No matter the brand though, it seems most reviews say great saw but you need to spend another $300 for a good fence. No savings there then. The Laguna Fusion looks good but is at my upper limit.

Bottom line- I need a cheaper saw that is accurate out of the box and better than a job site saw. A saw that will work for an old guy hobbyist. I do 99.9% of my work in lumber yard soft pine. And I am way too old to play the “buy now and upgrade later game.” (Got too many grand kids to spend money on instead of saws. lol)
Thanks for any ideas you can give me

-- They told me age was just a state of mind. Hogwash! My body disagrees.

Have your say...
