Hi fellow LJs, I would like to share with you and invite you into my home, my heart and soul! Together with my team of students, I started building my house in 1998 for my wife and two daughters. It is located on a severe slope on top of a hill with a majestic view of Laguna de bay. It has been a 12 year work in progress and it’s almost done. It is my tribute and testament to Filipino ingenuity, design and craftsmanship. It is where I get all of my design inspirations. The entire house is totally made from reclaimed wood. the roof tiles were also salvaged from an old house. It’s a pity though that the video interview I have on file is in Tagalog, my native dialect. It’s still worth viewing though just click on the link below. I hope to inspire others on the possibilities and uses of recycled construction materials and its potential beauty.

I was hoping I would get to see it sometime. I read about it in this article:

I noticed a desk in the video that didn’t look like your unique design, is that your Grandfather’s?

Right you are Norm’s nephew. That desk belonged to my great grandfather, Severino Reyes, a.k.a. Lola basyang. It was where he wrote his Zarzuelas in the early 1900’s

Magaling. Totoong maganda ang bahay mo. Once again you make me jealous Pare. I continue to live vicarious dreams of woodworking in San Pablo through images of your art.

Looks fantastic Benji! Truly a work of passion. Never mind the tagalog, the images speak for themselves. I just wish they’d have stopped moving the camera for even just a second to get a better look! I’m dizzy! I hope you get a chance to post some pics on here. I can always move my head if I find it too still :)
