Brooks Woodworks
Quality woodworks for everyday needs
I have a small shop located in Turlock California. Originally, I planned on building smaller woodcraft items. Some would be made on the lathe, while others would be assembled. Instead, everyone has asked me to build furniture. You can see examples of what I have created on my website, www.brookswoodworks.com .
I am looking to expand my client list in 2007.
I am also expanding my tool list as well. Currently, the shop includes:
-DeWalt Router (plunge and fixed base)
-Craftsman Router Table
-Ridgid jointer
-Jet lathe
-Craftsman Miter Saw
-Delta Drill Press
-Delta belt sander
-Numerous clamps and small hand tools
New additions for 2007
- Festool Domino
- Porter-Cable air compressor and nail guns
The pictures are of my Dad’s shop, where I do most of my work for now. It is bigger than my garage, and has a table saw.
Next on the list
- Planer
- Drum Sander

Well, thanks to your workshop you’ve put us on the Lumberjocks Map. I’ve made several breadboxes, the DVD Cabinet, and working on the magazine table we discussed earlier. If there are any more ideas I can come up with, I’ll pass them along. Also I’m getting ideas for the wooden hinges that Don put on three of his boxes.
Oh, one more thing. Since I’ve posted my things on Lumberjocks, my website traffic has tripled and I’ve moved up from the 24th page on Google to the 5th page. It really helps when you get a lot of traffic when people are looking for Work shops and Wood Crafts.
Do you have a physical shop, maybe I could stop by since I’m only about 10 minutes away.

Right now I am working in a borrowed shop, so I have not worried about pictures. But I should get a few just to show what I have available.

Usually there is a lot more sawdust, but Dad had just cleaned up so I decided it was picture time. Also, most things were stacked, rather than the normal scatter that usually happens.

Hi Bill,
I just now got around to reviewing your shop post. It looks good and I can surmise from the pictures that you either (1) have a lot of works in progress. or (2) firmly believe in saving offcuts. :)
Either way you can’t lose. You have a nice shop space and look like you have a diverse line of tools as well.

Scott beat me to it, but don’t you just hate throwing away cut off’s !!?? I used to stack them against the back wall and couldn’t figure out why my shop kept getting smaller :]. Nice shop space.
