Here is a recent build. Dimensions are approx. 12’ long x 8’ high. Wood is all pressure treated with the exception of the post caps and trims which are cedar. Couldn’t convince them to pop for all cedar. Lattice work is 5/4 decking boards ripped to 2” wide. Holes are 2” square. The lattice work is dado’ed into each other for an assembled thickness of 1-1/8”. I left a slight reveal on each side. It’s a total of 768 dados. Took me about 4 hours to cut the dados using a simple jig (similar to box joint jig) on the miter gauge.

TV Console made from Hard Maple. Dimensions are 84” long x 21” wide x 29” tall. Piece is entirely solid maple with the exception of the drawer bottoms and back which are 1/4” maple ply. Dovetailed drawers are solid 7/16” bookmatched (resaw from 5/4) maple. Lower center shelves are adjustable.

There are four elements in this that are matched up to an existing piece the customer had – the feet, the chamfered corners and the upper and lower trims. The trims were made on the table saw by running diagonally across the blade, a table saw molding head, the router and a ton of scraping / sanding.

Stain is Saman water base Walnut and Chocolate (3:1 ratio). Top coat is Varathane poly in Satin. The pictures don’t really do it justice. I really need a new camera and the proper environment for pictures.

Here is a small box I’ve just finished up. Wood is walnut and birch. Size is 11”L x 7.5”W x 3.75”H. The inner tray is about 1” deep. The center “panel” in the lid is raised about 1/16”. Finish is Watco Natural Danish Oil. The dovetails came out pretty good but they still have some way to go. Seems like dovetails are like golf – something you can practice all your life. You can see a little filler on the corner of the top left tail. There’s a few other spots too. Overall I’m happy with it.
