two boards, and some hand tools, part two

I have a pair of rough sawn boards. These were cut offs from a longer plank. Thinking about a writing desk. So, these two will be milled down into the sides. A look at what I started with

Board number one. And

Board number two. The really bad edges were taken down to smooth with a cambered jack plane

It is a Red Plane because it is a Corsair #C-5 Jack plane. Got the edges down to almost cleaned off, time for something a little bigger?

Like a #6c Small Jointer. Boards were too short for the #8c. After the sloped edges were done

I flipped the boards over and smoothed the edge grain on the (almost) straight edge sides

Next “chapter” will be about those face sides. Still have a few nails to remove, before I even start that. Will hand saw to length as well.

Stay tuned….

Nice work, if you can “get it”....

I don’t “get it”, that’s why I have a TS, BS, jointer, thickness planer….

I am not that good with hand tools, but I try to use them when I can. Very nice.
