Ok Got the aprons sorted out. Next time, check the width first. Got out a power tool for the next part of this build
Unlike a bearded Guy with flannel Plaid shirts, I have just this as a router , for now. It was set up for the dovetail jig, with a 1/2” collet. Had to did around in the kit’s bag, and find the 1/4” collet, still in a zip lock bag. never been used. Switched them out, installed a cove bit. i wanted to run a cove around the top’s top edges.
Must have been a good bit, didn’t burn anything up, wood or the router. As for those troublesome short aprons,
I didn’t add any edge treatments to the aprons, table is “busy’ enough now. Mixed up some BLO and some Minwax Poly Gloss in an old plastic tub. Brushed some on a test piece
Of walnut scrap. Not too bad. Next, i placed the table on the bench, on it’s top, legs sticking up into the Dungeon air
and brushed on a good coat. Them legs were like a sponge, just keep soaking right in. Finally was able to turn the table over for a coat on the top
Well, first coat in on. Hope the legs finally stop sucking up all the finish. Next, a scrub down to get it ready for a second coat. After that, we’ll see. Stay tuned…..
