« Part 1: Start up Part 2 of Next Kitchen Project series Part 3: Side #2, and a top »

Was looking through the stash of Oak i brought home….this might be interesting…

Maybe..

Hmmm?

Not all was this fancy-schmanzy, though..

Good thing I’ll need some narrow parts…hauled a few to the shop..

These were for side panel #2..already had parts for #1 cut to length..

Already stashing cut-offs, for smaller parts..

Well, today..after tests at the local Hospital…and a nap….did a cardio workout..

This is about an hour’s worth….they pile up, when they look like this..

Jointed the edges for side #1 parts…

Used all of these planes….some places were a bit rough, and knotty. Finally got all the edges to go together, without gaposis setting in….Add the beads of glue, the clamps, and a couple cauls…

Panel is now glued up. Used the tablesaw to cut parts for panel #2…..had to dig up the shop apron…not allowed to get these brand new jeans messy from the shop…

Wound up firing the splitter/guard on the saw….all it did was bind up, and pull stock away from the rip fence…

Have two 1×6 x 3’, and that 1×2-1/2” x 3’ boards. Need to joint the edges.tomorrow. letting glue up #1 sit over night. Cut off pile is growing..

face frame parts? Need a panel for the base’s top? Door Parts? Will have to see how things go….
Stay tuned…

Shop apron…. Hope it’s not like my turners smock that I always forget to put on until I’m covered in chips and shavings!
