« Part 1: A start up Part 2 of Maple Frame & Panel Box series Part 3: Frame making, and a lot of grooves needed »

Got that panel up of the clamps…and out of my way….

This is what the “Plan” looks like…but nothing is set in stone….have to adapt to what sizes I have on hand..

Made a “cut list” of sorts…it said I needed 4 pieces @ 3/4×1-1/2×8-1/2” so those were milled..

It also said I needed 4 pieces @ 3/4” x 1” x 8-1/2”.....so milled those up…..then things got….changed..
List called for 4 pieces, to make the front and back frame’s rails…..ok, looked through the stash…did not have any at the 12-1/2” length needed….will make do with 11-3/4” instead..

Now, some of these parts were too..fat. Some just a few passes with a plane….some took a trip to the bandsaw for weight -loss….then a pass or two with a plane…..edges needed jointed..

Couple faces needed worked down smooth. Laid out the parts for the front frame ( while I was scrounging up parts for the ends)...

Rather fancy? Then laid the parts for the back’s frame onto the front’s parts…

Not so fancy….oh well. There was a problem ( I thought…)

This is not the panel I was going to use…but..

The panels I WAS going to use were a bit too short…..or so I thought….then I remembered I need to cut tenons!
I could adjust the rails to match these short panels….and still use them.

So….that is where I was..yesterday….still forgot to turn that dang fan on….gave up for the evening..

Today? Well, spent a few hours puttering around….that will be shown in the next exciting episode..
Stay tuned
