« Part 6: Shelves done, back is started Part 7 of Pine Pantry Cupboard series Part 8: One door done.. »

Well, a little bit of catching up..

Had a couple strong armed ( and back) youngsters ( 22 and 24 yr olds) haul the case up out of the shop…

And get the Boss’ approval. Finished pantry will go against the wall…

And replace this “too small” cupboard.

Today, I decided to bring things upstairs to cut the last piece for the back. I have a saw bench outside on the back patio. Hauled the tools upstairs with no problems…..getting the back up those stairs was a painful trip. A sill plate for the floor joists runs right across the opening for the stair…..yep, head found it….OWWW! About knocked me out. Finally got the 3’ x 4’ panel outside. Cleared the saw bench of plants and used a pair of screws to keep the panel from getting too squirrelly on me…

Measured for a line….chalk line..

And used a cordless saw to make the saw….too out of shape to use a handsaw…..

Got the newly cut panel inside…turned the Pantry to where I could work on the back. Large square to mark where to add screws…hard to see the frames through the plywood. Drill a hole through the plywood to just start the screws..only missed once. Used my foot to prop the panel up to where it will go, and add a screw or three…

There is a slight gap between the two pieces…..lets air out when they slam the doors….

Put the tools away, moved the Pantry back to where it was. Will let the Boss take over….

Plants…anything flat outside, seems to get “planted”..

The Boss has it in it’s new home, and loaded up..

Need to build the doors next.
Decide on the hinges
Stand aside while she is using the paint brush…...

Figure out what to do with the leftover pine pieces…

Try to find a pair of knobs to match the ones in the Kitchen…

This MIGHT take awhile….
