A little info about me...
I am 27 yrs old. I have been married for about 1 1/2 yrs and my wife and I don't have kids yet. She works full time as an RN at a hospital here in Phoenix while I am in school. I am majoring in business. I have a background in sales. I have pretty good people skills and enjoy the interactions that I have had through my sales jobs. I have always been somewhat of an entrepreneur and I don't ever think that I will ever only have one source of income. Luckily my wife has a good job that we can rely on from time to time.
I grew up with parents that seemed to constantly be remodeling their houses. I have always been around power tools and I feel that I have a natural ability to use them. I have built several small projects (you can see some of them in my projects section). Over the last year and a half I have become fascinated with furniture building. I am currently taking a woodworking class at a local community college but the program here is very limited. I am trying to decide if it would be worth it to go to a school that specializes in furniture design and craftsmanship. I feel that I have a good eye for detail and I am able to learn things very quickly. My tentative plan is to get my business education, go to furniture school to really hone my skills and develop a good portfolio, and then possibly apprentice with a successful furniture builder until I can do it on my own.
That kind of sums up my current situation.
