22 posts in 1355 days Location: Quezon City Philippines I'm a complete beginner from the Philippines. My wife got me into this, seriously. We live in a really cramped apartment and my wife said she wanted to make custom furniture for it. I figured this would be a great way to spend time together. The other hobby that I do is programming, but that tends to make me antisocial. Anyway I'm having lots of fun now, though I've learning most things the hard way. The fact that you should start with straight and square wood for example. Or the fact that one should not grasp a try to pull a stuck straight router bit from the collet with your bare fingers ( i have a permanent reminder on my finger now) My budget's limited, so I'm starting out with mostly second hand tools, the most useful being a 7 1/4 Ozito circular saw and a D-handled Makita router (both of which I got cheap). Those tools spend a lot of time bolted to a plywood board upside down. -- I still have all ten thumbs Latest Activity | view all »
