Here’s your chance to showcase your latest woodworking projects while competing for prizes. The rules are simple and, like everything else at LumberJocks, there’s no fee to enter.

The best part of this competition? There will be no designated jury of experts. You and your fellow LumberJocks will cast the votes. This creates a truly democratic voting process from our exceptional woodworking community.

Categories

1. Garden Project - Why waste your summer hours just sitting by the pool and smelling the roses when you can sit by the table saw and smell the sawdust instead!! But wait, it gets even better -- now you can build that summer project AND enter this year's Summer Contest Category "GARDEN PROJECT". Set aside those water goggles and build something cool for your garden to compete in this outdoor theme. Let the summer games begin!!
2. Wood Joinery - Let's get technical - but without glues, metal nails, screws or other mechanical fasteners! Yes, this is the "WOOD JOINERY" challenge for all you LumberJocks out there. Let's see what you are made of - or rather what your woodworking project is made of. If you can build it with screws, you can build it without. Pure and Simple: Envision it, build it, enter it. Note that entries in this category should have at least one joint and NO glue or mechanical fasteners should be used to create the joint(s).

Official Rules

1. You may enter one project per category and you may enter the same project into multiple categories.
2. Entry opens on July 1, 2007 at 6 AM CDT and ends on July 31, 2007 at 3 PM CDT.
3. Voting opens on August 1, 2007 at 6 AM CDT and ends on August 7, 2007 at 3 PM CDT.
4. Each vote must list top five entries per category in order. You cannot include your own entry in the list.
5. You are allowed to vote only if you have at least one project listed on the LumberJocks.com and you can submit only one vote.
6. Total points will be calculated for each entry from the submitted votes (1st place = 5 points ... 5th place = 1 point).
7. The final order of the entries will be determined by the total points (primary ranking) and number of higher rankings (secondary ranking).
8. Winners will be announced on August 8, 2007 at 6 AM CDT.

LumberJocks.com reserves the right to amend the rules at any time in case unanticipated circumstances arise.
