Hello George,

Let me welcome to LJs. I am sure that you will find this to be both a rewarding and an inspirational part of your woodworking journey.

-- With God's help all things are possible- even woodworking. Woodworking is not just a hobby, it is an (expletive deleted) expensive hobby.

POSTING INJURY PHOTOS IS TERRIFIC IDEA. 36 YEARS OF MACHINE/WOOD SHOP OPERATION WITHOUT A SCRATCH ( NOT COUNTING SEVERE HEARING LOSS FROM LOUD MACHINERY BECAUSE WE DIDN’T KNOW ANY BETTER!). USING MUFFS NOW TO KEEP WHAT I HAVE SO I KEEP SHOP DOORS LOCKED. LOCAL POWER CO HAS CONTROLLER ON SHOP AC TO HELP DURING PEAK LOADS AND THEY SHUT IT DOWN. DECIDED TO OPEN SIDE DOOR, USE FAN AND FINISH LAST PIECE ON TS. LARGE MUTT GOT IN BEHIND ME, PANICKED WHEN I STEPPED ON HIM AND BUMPED ME HARD ENOUGH TO SLIDE END OF RIGHT THUMB BETWEEN GUARD AND TOP OF BLADE. NOT SEVERED BUT BADLY MANGLED. I TOO HAVE LEFT ALL THE GORE AS REMINDER TO NEVER EVER GO AROUND SAFETY PROCEDURES. IT ONLY TAKES ONE MOMENT OF STUPIDITY.

I see that you have jumped into the forums already. If you turn off the cap locks people find it easier to read your posts. thanks.

Welcome to Lumberjocks. The projects are an inspiration, the information is priceless and the people are supportive. The only problem is, the site can get addictive.

God Bless
