I've been TURNING WOOD,building furniture, cabinets, and anything out of wood for the last 40 yrs.I think by now I must have wood dust in my veins.I worked 11 yrs for the HITCHCOCK CHAIR FACTORY in riverton ct . 6 of those yrs were spent in the sample shop building the prototype pcs. I worked 9 yrs for OVATION INSTRUMINTS in new hartford ct.carving guitar necks. I also worked at NININGER & COMPANY in ct. building very high end occasional tables. At this time I'm unemployed but doing wood turnings out of my garage and lovin every minute of it. I have a HAPFO AP5000 COPY LATHE and it really does the job! you can see it on my blog.I just picked up another HAPFO LATHE with a large hand wheel to advance the cutters. I wish I had done this year's ago. I never thought it wood work out but at times I can get very busy. The best part is the boss isn't breathing down my neck, and I don't have to punch a clock! Now I make turnings (chair & table legs and parts) for the Hitchcock Chair company in Riverton ct. Old turners don't die, they just turn to dust.

If anyone is interested, I posted a video ( I think) on my blog. I think it will work. It is a video of my copy lathe in action. I filmed it with one hand, while I ran the lathe with my other hand.
