Cool! Great start. I agree with you that pallets are a great way to get wood when money is tight. I'm always on the look out for them when I'm about town.
Great Video, amazing shop! I really like the little jigs you use for repeatable results, especially the dowel locations. Super simple but I never thought about it. Also, I've never seen a horizontal drill press before. looks handy. Can't wait for Part 2.
Questions: Is the purpose of the countersink (well) to prevent glue squeeze-out? Again, basic but never thought to do that.
Mr Gilbert. Yes we still burn pallets over here. A great source of free firewood. Best to knock them apart in winter so you get warm smashing them to bits, stacking them away and burning them. Great value..
Reallyliked the video! A horizontal drill press, improves accuracy? Pallets I've seen here in Southern MN not so nice. Looks like the school shop? What is your home shop like?
You make it look easy. I'm wondering about the technique for screwing abd drilling. Offset? I usually mess up the heads when I do that. I like the tounge and grove backing. Any reason for it over shiplap? Spring is on it's way here.
Be sure to spend some time taking pictures that show it off! Ya do yourself proud!
