Paint onto wood is fun! If your going to give this a go, don’t use hi tack masking tape. Push it all down firm and take it off before it dries. Hope you have as much fun as I have been.

Did you wait until dry or just tacky? You tripped a couple of mental triggers. LOL (In my head!) Looks like you now have a complete set of shop tools at home shop?

Keep pushin the limits!

Really nice. Love the colors and your process.

Were those old test pages used for masking?

Hey Tom. (Doc Savage) I pulled the tape of as soon as I finished spraying so it didn’t adhere to the tape and risk tearing at the film of paint.

Andy, Great up-cycle and video. Love your videos as always. I like the Mondrian motif and use to doddle his designs, in my own heavy handed way, through boring office meetings, which includes just about all meetings. So I have notepads full of Mondrian designs, none great, some better than others. And for me, it is not easy getting the geometric proportions just right, that pleases the eye, nor the adjoining color scheme. I thought the limited color pallet would be helpful, but it can make you really think about arrangement of color. I tried my hand a FLW’s stained glass prairie style with a friend who actually knew how to work with stained glass panels. My patience grew too thin. I wonder if Mondrian influenced FLW, or maybe the other way around?

Have your say...
