The patern was from Scroll Saw Village. I had to make some modifications to accomadate my material, equipment and abbilities but I hope I retained the original artists vision. The peice is curently unfinished, however I will work on that. thanks for taking a peek.
Dennis

Made from a peice of 3/4” oak that I rescued from the burn barrell. Again I must appoligize for the extreamly poor photo quality. I had a choice between investing in a new scroll saw or a new camera and the saw won.

Even when she told me she needed 8 of them I was undaunted. What I should have remembered (after a 40 year stint as a machinist) is how boreing production work can really be. Oh well, it did manage to use up a lot of the reclaimed material that I have in the shop and the pratice is something I can surely use.

The decoration on the blocks was done by my lovley and talanted wife. On one side she used letters to spell out the babys name. On another side are pictures of the parents and grandparents. the remaining sides are colors shapes and animals. the babys name is Cayden. I sure glad it wasn’t Johnjacobjingelheimerschmidt. That would have required a lot of blocks.
