Friend is moving... looking for new space near Hagerstown

About a year and a half ago I started by making a basic tool bench out of my little garage. I accidentally found a new friend via craigslist and we have been sharing his shop since with of mix of my tools and his. Sadly, he may have to be moving soon which likely means my tools and plans need to move elsewhere. If they move into my garage? Nothing will ever happen as there is already little room.

To the point, are there any jocks local to the Hagerstown, Maryland area that might be interested in some shop sharing arrangement? Though I’m asking for shop space, I would be pretty disappointed if it didn’t come with a nice shiny new friendship as well. If the shop isn’t fully tooled, I do have a few to offer (table saw, floor drill press, router, DA sander, hand drills…) and would likely be willing to purchase some new tools to fill in the gaps. If the shop needs some work, I’d be happy to put time into that first. Outside of woodworking, I am a software engineer (though also mechanical and electrical) that enjoys photography, animals (five cats and a dog at home), and the great outdoors (especially the forests that give us our wood).

Maybe interested? It would be great to hear from you. :]

I’m not too close but your welcome to come visit my shop any time. I have moved it and have some more space and will be clearing out more space soon. Still have a lot of work to do, finish furring out and building some more walls, installing some more overhead lights. Private message me if you want to come visit.

I’m in Central MD so I can’t help you myself…but the Woodcraft store in Rockville has a pay to use arrangement in their woodshop and the shop itself is quite extensive. The user fee seemed very reasonable to me and they are open for many hours of the week, but since I have my own basement shop, I don’t need to use theirs…but you may want to check it out.

Good luck!

That’s a good option to be aware of, thanks for the heads up.

Have your say...
