What a wonderful surprise.

I just got a call like a bolt out the Blue. It was Rand calling Scotland fae Texas

Now when the wife answered the phone, she got all twitchy.

You see when I normally get a call from the US of A it is normally them at the Whitehouse looking for some financial advice. (TIC)

So when I discovered that it was my LJ buddy Rand / lilredweldingrod, I was really excited

A real conversation

What did we chat about?

WOOD what else!
&
Dogs
&
Lathes
&
Tools

Health being a bit low at the moment it was the best medicine I could ask for.

Martin Sojka, thank you

Rand that call meant a lot to me, timing was great.

Jamie, I’m glad it gave you a bit of a “pick-me-up”. I’m sorry my hearing is so far gone and had to make you repeat everything 20 times. lol But I must confess part was to hear your beautiful Scottish accent. lol A voice is so much better than just words on a computer screen. Thank you for the advice on the lathe mounting.
Our love to all and especially your lovely wife and your Jolly Rogues. Rand

Jamie, God Bless you. If you can help the US of A with it’s finances then all the power to ya. This sounds like a great conversation and I’m so happy to hear about it. However, I’m sorry about your health being a little low at the moment; I hope and pray that it takes a turn for the better because you’re one helluva fine fellow. Yes, Lj has a way for connecting people together. Thank you for that, Martin.

Having been on both sides of this equation, I can say that it is hard to explain the desire to connect with or be connected to another human being on the other side of the planet. A phone call is a step up on personal messages. Hearing about it is a feel good moment.
