Well I have got about 1000 BF milled so far. Mostly Popular and some Hemlock, Today we got into some of my better logs Hard Maple and Cherry. Got some boards of Hard Maple that are 11” wide and 12’ long. But the Cherry is where I have got some nice stuff got boards that are 11 1/2” wide and 8’ long. I did make 1 slab today it is 3 1/4” thick and 11 1/2” wide and 6’ long. Should be able to get 3” from it after planing that is why it is 1/4 thicker. Would make a nice fireplace mantel. Tomorrow should be doing some more Hard Maple and Cherry. Still got 20 more logs to mill. Some of the Hard Maple are nice size should get about 300 BF just from 1 log. Most of the logs left to mill are 10’ to 12’ long. Also got 7 Cherry logs left to mill and thinking of making some more slabs. I got something like 24 Cherry boards so far so I can make some slabs and still have a lot for boards. If I remember to take the camera tomorrow will get some pictures and post them.

Pics would be great. I love fresh cut lumber!
p.s. It’s spelled poplar, not popular.

In case anyone hasn’t mentioned it before…a couple of pics are highly desirable.
Have your say...
