From Logs To Lumber #6: Got a Nice Elm and some Poplar

Been busy getting all the firewood out of the woods. So far have hauled out 27 full cords of firewood and got a little bit more to go. But did get a nice large Elm log it is 10 feet long and 24” in dia. also got 2 Poplar logs also to bring the total of logs to 30. Got all the logs up out of the woods this week. Looks like I will have about 3000 BF of lumber when I get it all milled, maybe more it is kind of hard to figure how much I will have with all of the logs. Some of them are 12 feet long. Some of the Cherry logs are a little short but then I don’t need real long boards to make kitchen cabinets. Been thinking of making all new cabinets in a couple years after the wood has dryed.
