Complete and total newbie.

Watched everyone else in my family, including my brother, build stuff my entire life but I had no interest - but did build the world's worst (and lowest) coffee table about ten years ago. Finally got the bug last year when I bought a power drill to add shelves to my closet. Haven't done much since (patio table; frames/stands for old stadium chairs/dog bed) but have been growing the tool collection and finally, at 36, got the bug.

I will ask many, many dumb questions.

-- I have a surprisingly large tool collection for a man with no garage, shed or workshop.

I’ll welcome you here as well. Ask as many questions as you can, there are lots of very sharp people on here.

The only dumb question is the one you fail to ask when you don’t know what to do. Even the most simple question is one that too many people are to embarassed to ask and will never know until they do. I often ask questions when I know the answer because there are those who need to know but will never ask. I also tend to over explain things. Welcome and ask away. Unfortunately I am not one of the experts on the site, but I can BS about it any time.
