1. Symbol of “BAT”
On the side panels, there is the Korean-traditional symbol.
People use this when they desire “bearing many young”.
In Korean language, we call this type of decorations as “풍혈” , “air hole” in english.

2. Joinery

1) Tapered sliding dovetail ( top – apron) : I hope that it would be help to prevent top from distortion
2) Tenon & mortise ( apron – side panels)
3) Butterfly key

3. Material

1) wood : Cherry , Korean Chamjook
2) hand tools : #4 , #7, dovetail plane (own made), frame saw (own made), plug saw, dozuki, router plane, plow plane …

This is not for tutorial, but just for sharing , I’ll continue this series… see you.

Looks like a good design. I look forward to your building progress. Is Korean Chamjook the same as cherry – I was not sure from the description.

diffent to each other.
I used cherry mainly and chamjook only for the butterfly key.
