As I mentioned in a previous post, recently I have been rather obsessed with shop organizing. Time is scarce, and when I go into the shop, I don’t want to have to hunt and peck for anything. When I upgraded the drill press to the Delta 20-95 20” variable speed drill press, I quickly got frustrated with running all over the shop getting various drill bits. I decided it was time to make a storage cabinet. First step was the upper cabinet. It would house most of the drill bit sets, as well as various other bits I use in the cordless drills.

Next step was to build the lower storage cabinet. It would house some other bit sets, as well as larger cutters and LONGER cutters. It would also give me a table top when open to put all the removable inserts in both cabinets.

OK, so I might sound like an organizational freak . . . but for me, happiness IS an organized shop. Everything in it’s place, everything has a place. When I come in, I can just go to work. And clean up is a snap!! Happy woodworking!

I love the shop to be as organized as possible. Lately I have been too focused on that, and need to get back to “paying” jobs! <snicker>
