I have been a fan of woodworking since I was a little boy. Didn't really get started actually doing anything about setting up a shop until about ten years ago however. My father was a finish carpenter and I was always "in his way" when he was working on projects but that is where I got the urge to "do some woodworking someday".

As of this writing, I have finally retired from my real job as an engineering manager for a 30 year old Plastic Extrusion company. The plans from this point on are to enjoy my woodworking hobby more, experimenting with things that I had not tried before and just taking it all in at a much slower pace. I also want to spend more time developing my three websites:

Ol' Daves Woodshop
http://www.oldaveswoodshop.com
(My non-commercial woodworking website)

My Etsy Storefront
http://www.etsy.com/shop/OlDavesWoodshop
(Where I sell some of the things I make)

Fastrac Antique Tractor & Support Group
http://www.adeptr.com
(Old antique tractors and engines are another of my pastime interests).

At any rate, I hope to accomplish bigger and better projects down the road and just have fun doing them.

Dave

Welcome to Lumberjocks. The projects are an inspiration, the information is priceless and the people are supportive. The only problem is, the site can get addictive.

Hi Dave,

Thanks for adding me to your buddies list. I made a quick perusal of your site. It looks great. I will spend more time with it at a later date.

My wife and I have been into antique and collectibles and was happy to find a collector of something so uniquely common as garden hose nozzles. It will be in the forefront of my mind now when we are out “hunting treasures”. Any specific qualities to look for?

Dave,
I have also placed you on my buddy list. I have not been up your way in a long time. I will be in Michigan City in April on union business for 3 days. If ever get down here I live just south of Indy.
On the 22, 23 and 24 of January The Wood working Show will be at the State Fair grounds. It is worth the drive. http://cms.thewoodworkingshows.com/cms/
