question about luan

I am starting a table saw station and my budget is low. Was at menards and noticed 3/4 luan ply is the same price as 3/4 ac ply and looks a lot better. usually I am not one who cares about looks of tools and extensions of tools (will remedy that as budget grows) but i am wondering if the luan is a valid choice. I have never worked with it so I am hoping someone has.
