Bogus message #1: Rip off

These people are persistent, if nothing else. They are trolling all over the internet for “opportunities” to run their scam. Once they get your e-mail address these notices come with regularity. I can’t believe that people actually fall for these scams but I guess enough do to keep these people in business.

Well, if there weren’t stupid people out there they wouldn’t keep doing it.

Scams are deceptive and I can understand why some people may fall victim to them But for spams, why are they still around? I mean who would buy something because of a spam they receive? I have spoken to hundreds of people at work or I know, I have never come across one single person who bought something because he or she saw it in a spam.(Of course, I can’t rule out some people might feel shameful to say so). All those sex enhancing drugs or just prescription drugs contained in many of the spam mails are too good to be true, if anything. As for scams, most of them have grammatical mistakes and by now, look too similar in their pitches – you won something, someone left an estate for you to claim, a girl in need of your love (read: money), etc. – that they are almost 100% ineffective as scams. Plishing, on the other hand, is a different story as it doesn’t present itself as being from a stranger but rather as someone or an organization you are familiar with. Anyone can fall for it and that’s where we need to be careful about.

Scammers have courage… There are so many of these. The way to protect yourself is to believe nothing from unknown sources.
