Flexing rod construction

instead of putting tension on the arm itself, the Davinci catapult uses the flexibility of two wooden pilars called flex rods. I will used the mortise machine to create the cradle for them then I will attach them directly to the catapult.

I am using sassafras because it is the most flexible wood I could get my hands on

That’s the idea of the catapult, I’m not sure where you’re at with production but I believe the Flex rods are the vertical pieces with the string attached?
