Well I took the day off yesterday from the three A&C style night stands I’m building to do a little clean up of cut offs I had laying around (two bins 15”W x 36”L x 24”T). I cut them all off at 12” long and not more than 3” wide so I can use them in the wood stove at the cabin. I also needing to organize the bigger pieces of scraps that are usable. You know the stuff that if it was in our house it we would be on that hoarders show. Its tuff to throw out a 5/4×6” x 12” piece of wood I don’t care who you are. With all that done I then thickness planed three 8’ long pieces of red elm that I am making into a ditty box and knock down buck saws for Christmas presents for my boys. With everything caught up I was able to cut the tops and shelves to their final dimensions today and then start assembling the legs. All in all a good couple of days in the shop.
I have a meeting in the morning with the general contractor that’s building the clinic for me and then the bank so, I will probably run to the cabin tomorrow afternoon to check on the cabin to make sure we didn’t have any storm damage from high winds Tuesday and drop off the scrap wood. I also had to call my sawyer yesterday and check in and see if he had any quarter sawed white oak for me. I got a message from him to call him back but forgot to do it so tomorrow I’ll squeeze that in. I doubt very much that I will find the time to get into the shop tomorrow to finish the leg assembly but who knows what luck I will have. I’ll try to at least take some pictures of the table tops to show the figure in the wood. Cheers
