I'm a hobbiest wood worker of some 30 years. Three areas of interest for me are:
1) Construction joinery - I've renovated 3 houses to date, the last of which we are living in. When I say renovated, the last two were all but rebuilt. To give that some scale, the square footage of the most recent one is 4300. So these buildings aren't small. (Of course I didn't do all the work myself). First was a 400 year old cottage with full on oak frame etc, last two were modern.
2) Furniture - all manner of things which generally we need ourselves. Now and then I do things for friends and family and have had a few commissions.
3) More recently a passion for turning has taken hold....wow does that conflict with getting anything else done :-)
I'm middle aged and live in a village in Hampshire, about an hour from London.
