With 2013 circling the drain I find my thoughts turning to this past year (and I can’t help thinking about the few years proceeding it, too). It’s been a rough go. I don’t know how far I should go back to make this all make sense to you. “If it were easy, everyone would be doing it!” -Something I heard nearly every day when I was building log homes. It really applies to just about anything we set out to achieve. There are so many people dreaming of being fulltime woodworkers, but few are successfully making a good living at it. Why is that? Why is there so many failing or not even trying? Part 3: Week One

Slow & steady wins the race… but this is ridiculous! I starting out the year sick –this was not part of the plan. I managed 2 disappointing days in the shop. Not the first week, of the new year, I had hoped for, but I guess I gotta start somewhere. On the marketing front… some success, Maybe? I started a Facebook page back in 2010. I never had too much interest with it. It was stagnant and hovered around 37 likes. With the help of Hoss12992 we managed to pump up that number to 135 ...

Part 4: January Is In The Bag

January is in the bag! Finally kicked the flu to the curb and finished the bed I have been working on. My wife and I delivered it last night. I broke the 200 mark on Facebook & took a couple more commissions. I’m also working on some designs for smaller items I can get going on etsy. I’m getting organized in the shop… but this is an on going process. I’ll try and take some before/after pics if anyone is interested. Until next time…...
