how can a pixel be made out of wood?

cool albeit I cant fathom a “wooden mirror”, aside from a very high gloss french polish or lacquer

Here is a video explaining how it works:

There are little wooden squares that tilt. If they tilt up to the light, they are bright. If the tilt down, they are dark. In the middle is in the middle. There are little motors on each square that move them while being controlled by a video camera that is looking at you. Hence the ‘mirror’.
