I have been into woodworking for over 5 years and do it as a part-time job. Unfortunately, the state of the economy has had an impact on my business.
Basically, I have a fully workshop in my garage and manage to get my work done as needed. More space would be nice but I can't afford the overhead.
My woodworking equipment consists of: A Shopbot CNC machine, Woodmaster 4-1 18" machine, a Performax 16/32 sander, a 6" jointer, Rigid tablesaw, 12" mitersaw, Ryobi 13" planer, a Freud table/router, air compressor, Jet air filteration unit and a dust collecter. And a whole bunch of other little tools and so on.
So I get up in the morning and go to work in my garage. It's great! I have designed built and installed custom kitchen cabinets, but no longer do that because people don't understand how much work goes into building cabinets from scratch. I mean I buy raw lumber, plane, sand and cut it. It is easier for people to go to Home Depot and purchase cheap cabinets and be happy. But, I will say this you can't buy customization at Home Depot though.
