I’ll give you a quarter for it… Seriously, that is neat. I have watched most episodes at least three times.

That’s too cool! I’ve been watching Wood Works for over a year now and even watch the repeats. Have you thought about getting Marc Spagnuolo’s autograph? I think he’s well on his way to becoming as famous as David Marks.

congratulations, Tyler. Now you can make a frame for it and hang it in your shop area or bedroom.

I’ll agree with the other two comments that your next project should be a frame.
It’s really cool that you got David’s autograph.
Did you send him a letter asking for it?

Very cool, Tyler!

Now… if you can just get your local woodworking guild to bring him in for a weekend class…

Me with David Marks

(Now how did THAT get in there?)

Way to go Tyler, I hope this inpires you to pursue woodworking further. I think it is Great david took some time to share with you.
Now all I need to do is get his autograph, on a check of any kind cuz it’s getting slow around these parts for work!

Woodworking guild? Weekender?
Yup. He came to Atlanta a couple of years ago and gave us a seminar on gilding.
Awesome.
But we didn’t get his autograph.
You da man!

I am going to make a frame. I have some scrap Purplehart, and maple, so I thought I would make a purplehart frame with maple splines. I’ll post pictures as soon as possible.

Tyler,

You know, St. Louis isn’t that far from Aurora… (well, relatively speaking) If you want, I can let you know if he teaches another class here in St. Louis and you can come down and meet him yourself!

Good for you Tyler. It won’t be too many years before people are asking for your autograph. I’ll bet that when he was your age he wasn’t as far along in the craft as you are now.

Cool congratulations! I have to chuckle a little since I see he was very careful not to write over the picture of what he considers his “breakthrough to recognition” project on his t-shirt. I love the work he does and have had the chance to take several classes with him ranging from a couple days to a full week. But you know what in all those instances I never got his autograph! All I’ve got is some scribbled notes of his on a couple of my bent lamination forms, some of his thumbprints on a copper panel, a knot patch in a table rail and lots of memories/knowledge. Maybe the next time I’ll remember it…
