Just for fun I thought I would upload some progressive photos of a project I am working on at the moment. Anyone want to guess what it is going to be?? (The toy truck is not part of it, just a fix it job I haven’t got to yet).
I will try to get a better photo tomorrow.
There will be more parts to this project and as I make them I will add photos. Glue up will happen when all the bits are finished.
Have fun.
By the way, the dovetail joint on this project
is the first dovetail joint I have ever done. A bit rough but hey, nothing a bit of wood filler wont cover up.
So any guesses as to what it is. Here is a hint. ‘It is useful’.

A box to store wood? If you have some small gaps around your dovetails (I didn’t see any) you can ‘peen’ them with a ballpeen hammer (ball end). Put a little glue in the gaps first then start hitting the end-grain until the gaps fill out.More hits with less force is probably best. If your end-grains are already flush with the tails might not be such a good idea. this method actually works real well.

Is it a place to hide toy trucks that you haven’t gotten around to fixing? Cause that could come in handy.

This is great, I haven’t laughed so hard for a while. One guess was pretty close. It wont take you long to work it out. As soon as I do some shaping it will be pretty evident.
Thanks
