Greetings! I'm completely new to the whole "social networking" concept so thought it very appropriate that I get introduced to this world talking to folks who shared my interests. I've been wood-working for nearly 30 years and like all of you, no doubt, enjoy spending whatever time allows, in my shop. My passion is creating "fine furniture" and I have been fortunate to have had some truly fantastic mentors along the way.
I enjoy reproduction work and have mostly created objects for myself, family and friends. I've never sold anything I've created, but have often been told I really wouldn't have too difficult a time doing so. I really enjoy the "Queen Anne" period and love building projects with cabriole legs.
I am always on the look out for fallen hardwood trees in the area and have taken great joy in going out, gathering the tree, taking it to the mill and creating my projects from lumber that I know "personally."
My shop is a stand alone 20x20 out building that I've outgrown years ago. Hopefully, after I retire in a few years, I'll be able to expand the walls! I fear however, like most, we have this unnerving ability to expand to fit out containers....therefore, the shop will NEVER be big enough!
Once I get the hang of this site, I'll come back and tell more (if that is what we are supposed to do!) I'll gather up some photos of my work soon and post them as that is what has attracted me to this site to begin with. You all have such wonderful talent and I look forward to interacting with you!
