I had an opportunity to visit the Nelson Atkins Museum & Art Gallery in Kansas City. It a beautiful museum and gallery, well worth the visit.

Of course my first stop was to see the original version of Rohlfs slant from swivel desk.

Last year I had an opportunity to measure and photograph another original that was being restored and based on this built a reproduction.

Here are some pictures of Rohlfs original desk.

A very interesting desk Peter.
I find the design very functional with the drawers and door being placed on the side of the desk making it very compact . My favorite details are the asymmetric carving on the lid and the carved pin for the lid hasp .
Overall the design reminds me of Bavarian style furniture for some reason .
Thanks for posting this .

Truly original and well worth duplicating.
