Maple Countertops - 3 replies
Presently I have Mahogany countertops that I used a tung oil mixture on. Easy to touchup, etc. Easy to refresh. We are restoring an old farmhouse and want Ambrosia Mape countertops but I don’t like what tung does to Maple. Any suggestions for something clear and easy to maintain? Thank.

I used to never paint anything I built. Now that I have grandkids I find the need to spray paint. I have been through the Wagner HVLPs w/ much frustration. Should i buy a larger air compresor than I need or some sort of spray system? What do yall use?

I was fortune enough to acquire a lumber collection that had been in dry storage for 30+ years. I have planed some Walnut that looks just a little different. More color. Could be mineral streaks. I am not familiar w/ Claro. What do I look for? Thanks.

I have a friend that has a Chinese Chestnut tree in his yard that is fairly large. Maybe 24” in diameter. He said I could have to mill if I wanted it. I was curious why these trees aren’t harvest for furniture makers. I would assume they have similar characteristics as American Chestnut trees had. Anyone with any experience w/ the Ch...

Curly Maple. - 3 replies
I just saw an Antiques Roadshow that had an 1820ish Curly Maple Desk made in Ohio. The guy appraising it said it was the curliest he had ever seen. It was incredible. Has anyone else seen it? Had a great patina.
