Hello everyone. My name is David Spoon. I’ve recently come to work for Laguna Tools (about 5 weeks now). First, I want to say that every person (and I mean every person) has been extremely nice and helpful as my education began, continues, and will continue to grow in the realm of wood, tools, creative projects, and shop escape.

Although I don’t possess the same level of knowledge as my predecessors or coworkers, I can earnestly say I’m growing at an accelerated rate (kind of like my weight during Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Year’s).
I will be presenting special sales offers (exclusively for SawMill Creek members) as well as communicating some of our more compelling sales offers.

This is my introduction, so if you have any questions for me, I’ll be glad to answer them. I hope that, regarding the wood world, if I have any questions, there will be help out there for me.
My number is 1-800-234-1976 and my extension is 9622. You can also email me at david_spoon@lagunatools.com. Thanks for all your support. .

-- Jeff - I have not failed. I've just found 10,002 ways that won't work.

One of the reasons why cut and paste can be a bad idea in the business world. Either that, or we were going to get notifications of bargains that we can’t have ;)

Yep I sure messed that one up. You’re all correct…the end of the Friday day and cutting and pasting is most likely a bad idea. I apologize. I’ve been asked by Laguna to get involved with both SawMill Creek (am I allowed to write that name?) and with LumberJocks.
But if my introduction gave you a laugh (like the laugh of being embarrasses this morning) then we may be off to a fun and unique start. No, I did not get fired. Yes, the will be special offers “JUST” for LumberJocks members. No, I’m not too bright. Yes, it’s a large learning curve. No, there will never be any ranting from me. No, it’s not how I would have preferred starting my Monday off. But…forward I go! (:

Yep, since I’ve been here, I learned that have made various mistakes and some of our customer service could have been alot better. To that end, better customer service is one of out top goals for 2011.

I’m pretty sure that I wont be able to make up for all the “less than excellent” responses and actions of the past…but I’m going to do my best to do my best. Let me know if there are specifics that I can work on or try to help in. Thanks…

Personally, I can’t stand salesmen….But the fact that you humbled yourself, addressed everyone’s problems/questions, apologized, and laughed at yourself, I would have to agree that this is a good start. I’m already starting to like you….However, Charlie is right, it’s gonna take A LOT of talking (and walking in humility) to get anyone here on board with Laguna. You can do a search here and find a lot of horror stories. As long as you don’t give up, it might, just might turn out okay for you (and Laguna). But I bet you it’s gonna take a while…

I appreciate the opportunity. I understand that it’s likely going to take a while. That’s fair. Like I said, I’ll do my best. Thanks for the response.

I laughed at the first response post! Perfect in its brevity.
